About the Brand: Why We Love Babylonstoren
The Franschhoek Winelands is a treasured region of the Western Cape of South Africa. Located just outside the vibrant city of Cape Town, Franschhoek is home to rolling fields of abundant vineyards, enveloped by powerful mountains that stand proud. The very essence of the Winelands is encapsulated by Babylonstoren, with its working farm, extraordinary wines, world-class dining, artistic gardens, and luxury accommodation.

An Edenic Marvel
Babylonstoren’s working farm is one of the oldest Cape Dutch farms in the country and sprawls from the bottom of Simonsberg mountain with manicured elegance.
From above, its iconic gardens appear like a perfect puzzle of natural beauty. Walking amongst the shrubs and trees, seasonal fruit and flowers fill the air with an enticing aroma. While calling this unique location a farm may imply simplicity, it is anything but. Where contemporary living and luxury meet the diversity of the botanical surroundings, this is Babylonstoren.

Delectable Dining at Babylonstoren
Babel Restaurant is a clever blend of Dutch architecture and modern elements. In its previous life, the building was an old cow shed, but with a stylish reinvention and glass walls, Babel Restaurant is now an award-winning diner’s haven.
The Greenhouse Restaurant is a favourite amongst Capetonian locals. Meander through the gardens to the enclave of oak trees where a large greenhouse awaits. Delicious scones and sandwiches paired with seasonal salads and breakfast are offered in the company of indigenous plants and greenery.
From farm to table, both restaurants utilise greens and produce from Babylonstoren’s local gardens and surrounding communities.
Harmonic Balance at The Garden Spa
The Garden Spa is an extension of the Babylonstoren philosophy of embracing the natural world. In a pavilion made of bamboo, guests can relax in the Turkish hammam, chill room, and hot spa. The indoor swimming pool and sauna, salt room, and vitality pools offer a unique and tranquil space to unwind. An array of massages, wraps, and facials is available upon request, as well as access to the fitness centre.
